Prophetic Ministry Training

Prophesy is the supernatural enabling by the Spirit of God to hear His voice and deliver to someone else, or act on what He is saying.

The difference between psychics and prophets is their source. Prophets get their information and revelation directly from the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Biblical prophecy is speaking the words of God by the unction of the Holy Spirit.

Prophecy Is Needed On The Mission Field

First, in order to know where you are going and what you need to do, you must hear God's direction. It may be an impression on your heart and/or a word given by other Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

Second, having an understanding on what it means to be prophetic, versus being a prophet must also be understood.

Third, there might be people on your team who are more seasoned in hearing God's voice, but they should not be the only one that the team depends on when knowing what God is saying.

Yes, We All Can Hear God's Voice

There are even those in Christian circles who find it incredulous to think that we can hear the voice of God speaking to us outside of reading the scriptures. It is often forgotten that a person cannot enter a relationship with God without responding to his call for repentance from our sins and accepting his requirement for lordship in our lives. Romans 10:17 clearly states that faith comes by hearing the message spoken by Christ. The word used here is the Greek term "rhema", which literally describes it as something spoken!

Scriptures on Hearing God's Voice

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Exodus 19:19 And as the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him in thunder.

Deuteronomy 13:4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.

Isaiah 30:21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”

John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

John 8:47 “Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”

John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.”

Acts 13:2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Acts 17:11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Galatians 3:5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

Hebrews 3:15 As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Hebrews 3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice.”

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Hebrews 4:7 Again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
